yarp... I'd probably like Severed Hand a lot more if it wasn't for the intro. the intro builds and builds then the rest of the song is a let down till the bridge imo
but yeah severed hand was exactly the kind of thing I was thinking of

I think that intro music was on the EPK they released, too, so I was thinking the same thing for weeks before the disc showed up in my mailbox. Quite a letdown.Walker Bait wrote:Yes! I love MYM that way, plus Mike incorporates the intro into the song near the endharmless wrote:GSMF, MYMLounge Lizard wrote:True. That's also one of the things that are bugging me about Pearl Jam. It helps that they drop a hint of the intro back in the endHardTI wrote:Ha ya know I actually didn't notice that before.harmless wrote:It's not amazingly bad. I guess the only thing that'd improve that ending for me would be if Matt went back to that off-kilter rhythm for the last couple of bars.

Might have, yeah. I guess dropping into it for even two beats of a bar, as if he'd dropped the rhythm and then picked it up again, would've been cool. But he doesn't usually do anything like that, so...Lounge Lizard wrote:Might have killed the momentumharmless wrote:I guess the only thing that'd improve that ending for me would be if Matt went back to that off-kilter rhythm for the last couple of bars.

Electronic Press Kit. Usually a short video of the band talking about the songs, with footage of them performing the songs. Often shot in an annoyingly grainy and vintage filter.Lounge Lizard wrote:EPK?Jaeti wrote:I think that intro music was on the EPK they released, too, so I was thinking the same thing for weeks before the disc showed up in my mailbox. We've had them for ST and Backspacer and the one for LB has been shown at the listening parties in Europe.

I keep waiting for Matt to drop into a backbeat-tastic dnb rhythm with dropped beats and pauses everywhere.
