I was eating like Fat Bastard while I trained for that 50K last summer. The training ended but my eating habits didn't. Hoping to shed 10 pounds in the next couple of months. Back to counting calories and rationing alcohol.

Re: The Running Thread
My Ortho yesterday told me I shouldn't run for 6-8 more weeks but that it's also up to my PT. So a typical doctor non answer. He said the impact of running is bad and will make me sore. Idgaf about some soreness as long as it doesn't jeopardize the repair.
We'll see how this unfolds. I didn't really notice much of an issue when I got on the treadmill the other day.

Re: The Running Thread
Goggins posted this today:
Sometimes our fucking refrigerator is way too full!
We can open it at anytime and eat whenever we are hungry. We have all these fucking choices. Do you want steak, chicken, seafood, etc? With so many choices, it makes it very hard to find yourself hungry.
A domesticated dog gets accustomed to being fed at the same time three times a day with treats in between, sleeping when they want, etc. There is no fight in that dog.
You take the same dog and leave him out in the woods for a few days.... for the first few days, the dog may sit there, scared, not knowing how to find food. After a period of time, that dog’s natural primitive instincts will take over. The dog will start to hunt for food.
When you go back into the woods to get the dog and bring him home, you will not be picking up the same dog you dropped off.
We all have the ability to become that hungry dog! A lot of us are not willing to put ourselves into that position for long enough to bring out that mentality.
A lot of us are trying to earn a seat at the table... the seat at the table is among other uncommon motherfuckers! You have to learn how to be able to switch that mentality on and off on cue.
Make sure when the devil goes to sleep at night, he looks for you under the bed!

Four days of higher mileage, eating better, and no alcohol and I'm already down four lbs. Water weight, but whatever. I'll take it.

Re: The Running Thread
Life is the most brutal endurance sport of all time! A lot of us are forced into solitude right now. A solitude that a lot of us try to avoid.
We now can not escape the things we don’t like about ourselves. While this is a horrible time in the world, we must find a positive in every situation that is thrown at us. Utilize this time to focus on the things you might have been avoiding or things that would haunt you should you never finish or accomplish.
A lot of us look up to heroes in life. This is the best time to start creating that hero in you!

Re: The Running Thread
I feel like it would be more on brand for him to become extremely ill and try to do some endurance stunt anyway.
