It's funny how this fact's gone unnoticed. When he stretches his voice, he gets complaints. When he sings within his range (and also plays within that range), it's boring. I just don't think he can win everyone around with this kind of song.

Right, and that's an issue you have to look within yourself to work out and come to terms with, but it has nothing to do with the point about how "Ed singing in his range" isn't the reason a lot of people are turned off by the song.

I wasn't saying it was the reason people were saying the song is boring. But I do think that one possible up-shot of Ed (who isn't a great guitarist to begin with) writing a melody within his range and a set of chords to go with it, is that it might be boring. People thought Thumbing My Way was boring, possibly for this very reason. The End is not boring, but he can barely sing it. It's just meaningless conjecture but my thought process isn't totally illogical.

So, if Yellow Moon is great, FD will work just fine. SBM, even if it's just OK, will work as the palate cleanser before the final two.

After hearing Sirens I'm less worried about FD. If I can love this amount of cheese I can probably get on board with FD. I hereby abandon all of my principles, to be honest.

I do, but I was instantly hooked on it, so whatever it is it works.
