THE BILLBOARD TOP 100 TOURNAMENT

Post by LoathedVermin72 »

So doone PM'd me and reminded me I was gonna run a tournament before I left a while ago. So now that LMS's 007 tournament is over, we're not having March Madness this year, and everyone is in quarantine, it seems like the perfect time to begin:

THE BILLBOARD TOP 100 TOURNAMENT

I will be using this list for songs: https://www.billboard.com/articles/news ... songs-list

I had previously considered using the Rolling Stone Top 500, but I think there are too many spoilers in there (read: it has grunge songs). Also, I think this list is the perfect follow-up to my Nu Metal tournament, since many of these songs will be passionately hated by most RMers. But not all of them!

I'm planning on posting the first matchups on Monday, with matchups running from Monday morning through Tuesday night, then Tuesday night through Thursday night, then Thursday night through Sunday night.

I know your thread/forum integrity bit is coming from a real place but I'm beginning to think you're taking it to schtick levels. ruddo.

You'll just use the general song tourney sub forum that already exists. It's the same one the 007 one was in and the one before that. The old threads just getting bumped to other pages. We can rename it

How is it the Bee Gees get three tunes on this list and fucking Andy Gibb gets two, but the only way either Stevie Wonder or Michael Jackson can get one on it is by having a duet with Paul McCartney?

Some great songs on that list. I can't wait to passionately defend "Call Me Maybe"
