I was thinking this morning about how River Cross seems to be ATW part 2 in many ways, but much better (hopefully)

We got Avocado and Backspacer the Friday before the release date, but that was when albums came out on Tuesdays. I can't remember what happened with Lightning Bolt. When do you think we're gonna get this one?
Everything's perfectly all right now. We're fine. We're all fine here, now, thank you. How are you?

Thanks Stip. While I'm not a huge LB fan, I love that you fly the flag for it.
I like your Lockjaw avatar.

I had the toy. I think he was cool because you could move his jaw and replace different weapons on his arm. I think he's in the basement somewhere.

As much as we all want to hear it, I wonder are they worried about album sales at this particular time.
Does anyone actually walk into a store and buy a CD these days though?

If anything i would think that digital sales might spike with people stuck at home and looking for anything new to digest.

Yeah but regardless of format, lockdowns like this probably do more harm than good when it comes to expendable income.

Pearl Jam is the only band I buy a physical copy of the CD. I usually hit a Target or something. But I guess I could order it on Amazon this year

Lockjaw looks menacing, but he's really just a goof!

Huh. This is a very interesting comparison. Mind you I haven't read any of the reviews that have been posted so I might be missing something.

Agree they are the only band i still buy physical media for...order the CD's thru Ten Club (since Avocado) but obviously also get it digital since 10C shipping to Canada takes an outrageously long time.

I'm still annoyed that digital copies aren't available as a courtesy when I buy CDs and records from the Ten Club. :gomez:

As a frequent lurker who, until January, had probably not posted here since the months following Lightning Bolt, I appreciate reading this Stip.

I'm 41 years old and a full-time single dad. I don't generally do a lot of posting anywhere, but I do read this forum frequently because it's still a pretty great resource for PJ news, which I am convinced I will never get tired of hearing.

Apologies to the regulars who don't want us here, but here we are.

Veteran or nOOb: If you attempt humor and it falls flat you’re gonna get called on it.

RM is equal opportunity like that.

I also can't recall; I saw the band on album release day and remember knowing most of the words to the new songs, so it must have been at least a week.

I saw them in Buffalo on that tour, which I know was before the album officially came out, and I'd had it for maybe three days at that point.

Real quick search of my email, looks like it leaked 10/9 (release date was 10/15).
