That is correct. I remember that very well because I was on a two-week trip to Germany in April, it was pretty cold. I had the fireplace room of a small town hotel all to myself and that was when I listened to S/T for the first time. Can't believe it was SO LONG AGO.

"then cover the whole thing with the strongest baritone voice of the ‘90s."

Anyone believing this line from the Spin article? I don't think the other reviews mentioned it and it seems unlikely.

Looking my email:

Getaway, Lightning Bolt, Let the Records Play and Swallowed Whole leaked on September 13 2013

A week later they released Sirens as single. We already had Mind Your Manners

So we had half of the album a month before

Wasn't this for an MLB Playoffs promotional thing?
Correct! Just downloaded it here and says "Pearl Jam songs for MLB"

Full songs but bad audio quality
Huh...I remember MLB on FOX broadcast playing "FIXER" (First time I heard it) going into a break...

curious about the rituals people may apply to listen to album once it's released. Aside from listening straight through from start to finish, which i would say is an absolute requirement, how will people listen? Headphones? quality sound system? at home or in the car on a solo cruise? Will people pour a drink and if so, what? i'm thinking about bringing all three sonos speakers i have and configuring them in stereo in one room and enjoying a neat pour of bourbon.

This changed over the years...Back then was at my home, alone, sitting with the booklet. I still remember when i first heard Vs and No Code. Full attention.

With Binaural and Riot Act i had my discman, headphones. With ST i think i was alone in my room. Backspacer was tricky...i think i had to get a leak because i was going to ACL and they hadnt released the cd yet.

Lightining Bolt im not sure. Almost sure it was also a leak, and then the vinyl.

In that way, the meditative “Alright” (music by Ament, words by Vedder) hearkens back to “Present Tense” (from No Code). It also mixes up their usual instrumentation with Cameron on guitar, Ament on keys and kalimba, and Evans using a drum program.
The words and music of next song “Take the Long Way” are credited to Matt Cameron, who switches to guitar for this jam. It also features backing vocals from Seattle singer-songwriter Meagan Grandall (of Lemolo). Much like the melody, Cameron’s lyrics hypnotize: “Plant a seed in your mind / What’s yours is mine / Show me how to live divine / What’s yours is mine…”

Guess we're getting a lot of Cameron on the guitar.

Ideally it will be with the vinyl, all the way through in my record room with a good bottle of wine, pouring over the packaging while i listen. But if it doesn't come by the time it's streaming, I'll have a decision to make...

Alright.
Get higher than a left-handed football bat, order a pizza, then crank that bad boy up on the hi-fi.

It's a rarity to be able to listen an album (any album) fully without interruption, but I'll probably lock myself away for the album duration for at least one spin around. That's whatI've done since I really invested in them, which was during the Binaural release.

I don't have a great stereo system, so basically I'll head to the basement and chill out with headphones. Definitely wouldn't want to hear it first in a car.

With 'ya on the neat bourbon
We still make records to be listened to — not that everyone will listen to a record track one to twelve in a row or side A or Side B — but we still make 'em in case somebody does want to listen to it like that, that's how we make em…

This is pretty heavy on hyperbole, but also shares some nice details.
