The first 6-7 songs of S/T leaked about a month before release. I remember listening to it while running a half marathon in early to mid-April.

They werent even mastered right? I had those.

Best part was that Life Wasted didn't have that damn fade-out. Mike's solo to completion was pretty triumphant!

Yeah, I guess I got that backwards, I thought it did have it. I guess the outrage came when the official release did.

curious about the rituals people may apply to listen to album once it's released. Aside from listening straight through from start to finish, which i would say is an absolute requirement, how will people listen? Headphones? quality sound system? at home or in the car on a solo cruise? Will people pour a drink and if so, what? i'm thinking about bringing all three sonos speakers i have and configuring them in stereo in one room and enjoying a neat pour of bourbon.

I don't have a great stereo system, so basically I'll head to the basement and chill out with headphones. Definitely wouldn't want to hear it first in a car.

Probably go for a walk and listen to it twice. Then at my computer so I can post about it. I have good headphones for both

Ideally it will be with the vinyl, all the way through in my record room with a good bottle of wine, pouring over the packaging while i listen.

Seems like a waste of a good bottle of wine.

yeah, its a pretty cool review. Im kinda shocked the album could have a different read now with this whole thing happening...some of those lyrics...

The words and music of next song “Take the Long Way” are credited to Matt Cameron, who switches to guitar for this jam. It also features backing vocals from Seattle singer-songwriter Meagan Grandall (of Lemolo). Much like the melody, Cameron’s lyrics hypnotize: “Plant a seed in your mind / What’s yours is mine / Show me how to live divine / What’s yours is mine…”

Guess we're getting a lot of Cameron on the guitar.

Some of these reviews mentioned different studios being used. Some were really small and home studios from the guys.
And that does gets me excited. Im starting to think that Josh Evans played a crucial role in this. It sounds like the guys recorded some parts alone or in pairs. They have probably spend more time in the studio this way. BO'B schedule wouldnt allow that, he probably wants all the guys in for a number of weeks and knock a record out. Josh Evans role also seems to be a projectmanager

It's possible they used takes (or parts of takes) from when O'Brien was still working on the album with them, which means he may show up playing while not having the production credit.
