Welp my sister in law might have it
Fuck.
Mild fever, sore throat, dry cough, no aches yet. She took an online questionnaire and it recommended her not coming in for a test though.
Hmm

Re: Anybody want a Corona?
They only want people who have severe symptoms at this point to come in. I was a little worried because I have a cough but it is phlegm filled and related to allergies draining down, so we'll see.Strat wrote:Welp my sister in law might have it

Good luck to her, hopefully her symptoms don't get worse.

Yeah you may want to self-quarantine for 5 days or so to see if you develop anything.Strat wrote:Perhaps you are right.LoathedVermin72 wrote:I thought a sore throat was NOT a symptom? Maybe she just has a normal coldStrat wrote:Welp my sister in law might have it

The official Australian Government advice is that a sore throat is one of the key symptoms.LoathedVermin72 wrote:I thought a sore throat was NOT a symptom? Maybe she just has a normal coldStrat wrote:Welp my sister in law might have it

Some of the conspiracy theories are crazy. But one of her isnt. a kind of probable outcome of this is moving into a fully cashless society. Could see that happening here in Europe before the US. money is easily one of the bigger dangers in spreading it.
The UK still only testing hospital cases and telling people who think they’re infected just to stay home.
Mortality rate is going to fuckin explode there in the coming weeks. Insane approach

Re: Anybody want a Corona?
Some of the information floating around on Facebook is wild. I saw a post today that said if you can't find baby formula in store, you can call a number on the back of an empty can and they will send you 10 cases for free. And that all supermarkets in the state will be closed to everyone except seniors on Wednesday morning. There's also a much-shared phone number for AA conference calls while people are stuck at home, and I hope that one is real.

I don't know which category I will fall in. I'm guessing I can be on call. I hope.... regarding working (i) on-site, (ii) remote from home, and (iii) on call from home, leadership and supervisors will be sending out emails today and, as necessary, tomorrow, on a rolling basis, notifying employees as to which group they fall in.
Employees working remotely from home and on call from home will be required to email an agreement to the terms of remote work. As these communications will be going out on a rolling basis, from different offices within our agency, you may have a colleague who receives an email notification before you do.
We appreciate your patience as these communications are sent. In the meantime, if you believe you are likely to be working or on call from home, please begin to make the preparations (copying files to OneDrive, gathering necessary hard copy documents, preparing your phone) to prepare to potentially work or be on call remotely.

The government here has guarenteed pay for 20 days, for anyone that gets put on temporary leave.

I've also heard some grumblings of more serious crackdown/shutdowns comingSimple Torture wrote:Some of the information floating around on Facebook is wild.
