Man, I really hate the Black Eyed Peas.

When The Black Eyed Peas blew up, I thought it was literally the worst music I’d ever heard. Listening now, that opinion hasn’t really changed. Though they have some competition in the form of stuff like Imagine Dragons and OneRepublic, I would say The Black Eyed Peas are very likely the nadir of all music. This song is mind-bogglingly, sanity-challengingly awful. Like I can’t believe anybody could ever enjoy this. It’s so bad it almost plays like self-parody; I could imagine Tim Heidecker making a joke song that sounds exactly like this.

“Aquarius” is weird and cheesy and goofy AF; people were into some odd shit in the ‘60s. But obviously there’s no contest here.

BEP can get fucked. The Age of Aquarius was referenced in my favourite movie as a teenager - The Sure Thing. I could honestly quote every line in this film and used to sing that opening refrain all the time.

I've never heard that particular Black Eyed Peas song before but I honestly don't think it's that bad.

They had quite a funny musical trajectory, since they began (in the pre-Fergie years) as a more legitimate (though admittedly commercial) hip hop band:




Those songs still sound pretty good to me, they used to be played a lot on JJJ (for local reference) back in the day.

Anyway, my vote is for Aquarius.
