Two similar-ish songs, but Call Me is way better. ILRNR is a little cringey and tryhard, especially the backing vocals.

One thing I like about the Joan Jett song is the missing bar in the choruses and the way it resolves in the final repetitions. Gives the song a cool lopsided feel.

But "Call Me" is better. By the way, if you haven't listened to the slowed-down version by Alvin and the Chipmunks, you have to. It is very cool and doom-y

Close call here. Love Blondie, but going with Joan Jett because at one point in my childhood, this was my favorite song.

Yep. Blondie has better stuff than Call Me imo (but it ain't no bad song or anything), but I Love Rock and Roll was the soundtrack to the speed skate at my local rollerskating rink back in the day. I used to fucking blitz to that. Nothing like the freedom of racing as fast as you can around a rollerskating rink when you are 12 years old.

Heh. I was about to post basically the same thing. When this song came on at the rollerskating rink, everyone went nuts.

When I was little I drew dinosaurs a lot and I made up a band of dinosaurs and named them The Blackhearts and spent a lot of time making each dinosaur look different, but the babysitter pointed out that there was already a band called the Blackhearts so I was kinda pissed off about that.

Anyway I pick Blondie.

I would vote for other Blondie songs but this is one of the duller ones and I Love Rock n' Roll rules, so the latter gets my vote.

I had that very record back in the day ("Chipmunk Punk"). I also owned "Mickey Mouse Disco" on vinyl.

Call Me. I’ve heard ILRnR so many times I absolutely can’t stand to hear it anymore.
