One full run-through and the only song I'm not wild about is Retrograde. It feels like it could have been on Lightning Bolt, and feels too long and out of place. It's a testament to how strong and cohesive the rest of the record feels.

I'm blown away, I really am.

I already LOVE these songs. The whole thing sounds wonderful. There is space and the songs can breathe. Aside from Retrograde, the other longer songs don't feel long at all!

One time through, and I'm not ready to say what it's better than yet.

Some really neat ideas, great production, use of space, etc. Kinda wish Ed was even more in the background for this album like he was in that SBWM snippet. His voice just doesn't engage me like it used to.

Quick Escape and DOTC are the clear standouts for me so far.

The rest will take more listens to form any kind of real opinion.

I'm shocked the reception is so positive. I'm excited now, but If this album really is good it's even more a shame we won't be getting the tour Sounds like they might have been revitalized

Oh no, it's there! I think they could have put a louder horn section on this and really have gone all in.
