Re: River Cross
The way its offered on the album makes me a little anxious. It doesnt feel intimate enough or make feel as though its the closer. It doesnt simmer long enough maybe.

Re: River Cross
i absolutely love what the band added here. and i loved loved the ed original. everything added is atmospheric touches that give it air and let it fly.

Re: River Cross
This is really good. I think it's hurt (for a certain value of hurt) by occupying a thematic and even a musical space that does appear elsewhere on the album. This ties together a number of disparate thoughts running throughout, and probably feels a little familiar by the time you get here (as opposed to something like Indifference, which really comes out of nowhere on a record like vs).

I just sat on my couch in the dark with my hand raised. This is the song our quarantined lives needed.

The pump sound at the beginning is so delicious!

I’m pretty sure I’ve listened to this one the most so far. I love all layering towards the end.
I really love everything about this song. I don’t know that it’s my favorite, as that may be Buckle Up, but this one is definitely Top 3 for me.

Re: River Cross
perfect closer. pretty, but not mushy. the drums and bass part work perfect with ed's organ.

Re: River Cross
the choir section followed by the devolution of the music into a sloppy churchy ending is quietly brilliant

Love the music and lyrics, but it feels like Ed is tripping over his tongue here. He's trying too hard to fit all the words in there. The ending is beautiful
