have you ever heard a Springsteen song before? Those first few verses are mimicking his cadences (and even his lyrical styling) as surely as DotC is doing the same with David Byrne

My favourite right now as well. The verses are amazing. Reminds me Springsteen - downbound train or cross my heart? Can't put my finger on the song but it's definitely Springsteen.

Love it.
I might agree, but the Trump references hold it back. It’s like the dream world of the song is broken by a real-world reference. Same thing with the government references in River Cross. Still really like both of them though.
oh yeah forgot to mention how bad both of those lines are in each of those. The trump reference is pretty bad on Seven o Clock, and the Government line on River Cross was so..unnecessary.

Nope. It's Bruce influenced, I hope Ed aknowledges it soon to end this absurd debate.

Maybe it was, but that doesn’t mean it sounds anything like him

It does sound like Bruce, It's quite obvious.

I love Ed and I love Springsteen, so it's a win-win for me.

It is pretty heavy handed on the Springsteen influence. Just for fun..if you want to hear Bruce sound exactly like Eddie vocally, listen to 1:00-1:04 of Bruce’s song Nothing Man.

I want to draw attention back to my brilliant observation that no one has talked about.
well, in terms of an inversion, one is a terribly boring slog, while the other is now unfairly being compared to a boring slog of another singer/songwriter.

I have no idea how someone could not hear the Springsteen influence on this. It's so obvious during the first few verses.
