Me too, me too. I just enjoy them as much as I can, knowing they're offshoots of better songs in an old Ed style that I still basically enjoy.

I mean, Pearl Jam's not really in their wheelhouse; it's not that surprising that the critical reception is mixed. I'm surprised there are reviews at all. And Vitalogy and Yield both good pretty good reviews from them, so it's not impossible to get a good score.

I guess it gets readers, regularly writing about a really shitty band they're famous for not liking.

The only one of theirs I really disagree with is Riot Act. I think Vs. and Vitalogy should be a bit higher, but the Riot Act one is the only one where I think the score missed the mark.

However, I think they did identify Can't Keep, Green Disease, and Help, Help as the best/most interesting tracks/attempts at doing something new. I think that's pretty spot on. So, like, the reviewer did at least seem to listen and consider the album.

Other than the Mirella review and Mike's CFOX interview (which I thought was very interesting)... did I miss anything else? Any Sirens sightings? I was really confused yesterday and didn't have the energy to figure out whether Sirens actually leaked for real or if Jorge was just being a... well, you know....

This song is great! It has a real 80's feel to it, without being too cheesy. There's a great Mike solo at the end, kind of Guns 'N Roses-ish, but not very long. Good acoustic driven song, reminiscent of NAIS. Eddie repeats 'hear the sirens...hear the sirens' and then something about a circus. Good stuff.

Lightning Bolt -- this will be more neutered and 'nice' than the live version, but ultimately the best of the clunkers
SBM -- this will be really weird, even annoyingly so, until sometime down the line it clicks and becomes genius
FD -- this will be meh but a pretty way to end the album

My thoughts as well.

I'm not expecting LB to be anything more than an upbeat straight ahead rock song. That's not a bad thing. The following songs are also easy to play live

Again, LB may suck but I don't think 'a song that makes sense live' is a problem in itself
