Listen to an official copy of either of the singles (e.g. Spotify or YouTube on HQ audio settings, iTunes download, etc.) and then to the versions on the leak, it's quite a significant difference.

I don't know how anyone is listening to that leak repeatedly, or on in detail on headphones. The official release will sound much, much better.

Yeah I went for a run last night and listened to this on headphones. It seemed very muffled. Can't wait for the official release.

Even with the muffled sound, it sounds better than LB / other recent releases to me. I can already tell this is a nicely layered album.

I’ve been stuck working on emergency department training in my tiny, poorly lit downstairs “office” 8-10 hours a day, every day, for the last 15 days. I don’t know how long that schedule will continue, but at the least it’ll be weeks or months. I feel terribly overworked, a little bit useless, and very lucky all at once.

There’s a perfect storm here for me, in that an album with this exact message and feel reached me at this particular moment in time. It’s like the adult version of how I received Vitalogy just as my parent’s marriage imploded, No Code as I emerged from the rubble of that mushroom cloud and started the process of growing up and away from it all, and a warm, hopeful album with a midwestern road on the cover and a song about a human being who was given to fly on my 18th birthday.

Like those records...like the ones we most often carry with us forever...this one arrived already grafted on. It’s like my own heart sang a song, and someone else collected it for me. That’s going to make it impossible for me to accurately judge the record, or its place in the catalog. Love is blindness, and I don’t want to see.

I haven't listened to Gigaton yet, but damn this could be contender for post of the year. Hits home with me too because I had a similar situation in my youth with divorced parents and using music of the time (like Vitalogy) to pull through all the extraneous horseshit.

Im now thinking more of Cant Deny Me...that was produced by Brendan from a supposed album coming out in 2018. They released it, saw the backlash and decided to keep working? That song sound nothing like these batch, so at one point im sure Brendan and Josh worked together maybe?

how do we know cant deny me was from an album that they scrapped? was there an interview where it was mentioned they were working on an album with bob? i just assumed at the time cant deny me was just a one-off thing they recorded quickly and put out, not a part of something bigger.

Evans mentioned Retrograde was from the 2017 sessions during that Vedder listening party.

He also seemed to confirm Seven O'Clock was a jam from 2017 as well, and River Cross demo is from way back in 2015.

I love this album. But I do wish there was 1 more heavier song in the second half. Could have pushed it into the God tier, if it's not already there.
