Re: Buckle Up
I still believe this songs lacks a punch. Right after the end of each verse there's a pause when the guitars make a screeching sound - my ears are begging for a heavy interruption of the mellow flow right then and there.

Re: Buckle Up
Sneakily, this is one of the best headphone songs in the entire catalogue. Can't wait to hear the LP.

Re: Buckle Up
The bridge in this is so goofy and great. It’s like it came out of a weird No Code b-side.

If you don't like this song but you want to figure out a way in, follow a different instrument with every listen. There are so many separate layers that are really cool.

Re: Buckle Up
Wondered this too. I hope so - I always liked Stone's nasally backing vocals. I always felt that to be part of the band's overall sound at one time and I can't think of a prominent Stone vocal on any recent album.Mike wrote:Is that Stone singing "BAH BAAAH BAH BAAAH BABABABAAHH" ?McParadigm wrote:The bridge in this is so goofy and great. Re: Buckle Up
This song is basically Xmas for sonic ear candy; every listen offers something up new in a way a PJ song hasn't done for a long time.

Re: Buckle Up
To me it sounds like Brad hired Ed as their singer. And I love that.

Re: Buckle Up
Delighted we got this song. I've said it before, but I think it's got a Brad feel, and I might be RM's biggest Brad fan. Miss Shawn Smith, but having Ed on vocals is just as good.
