This is the first album since Avocado that I've revisited because I truly wanted to, and not because I felt I had to because it was a Pearl Jam record and I felt I had to be missing something.

Even the songs I'm not crazy about (specifically Superblood Wolfmoon) I end up kind of enjoying when I'm listening to them. Maybe I'll feel differently in six months, but I really like this record right now. I was not nearly as positive about Backspacer or Lightning Bolt. And I'm sure others have brought this up, but this record REALLY drives home a lot of the complaints about BS and LB, especially with regards to the producer/band dynamic.

Her editor should be responsible for some of it, but a lot of it is just her not having a clue what she's talking about. That's not someone else's fault.
relax, I'm not absolving her of that responsibility; I'm saying that Tree's email is only as bad as the editor's comments would have been if they'd been doing their job properly; of course the writer herself should have done a good first-pass proof read
What about what I said suggests I need to "relax"?
"that's not someone else's fault"

I didn't need correcting on anything I said and your comment was a correction
No, it wasn't. It was my opinion.

Edit: if the tone sounded harsh, it wasn't directed at you; it was directed at the "writer" of the review.

Yes! I've resorted to nitpicking reviews to pass the time...excruciating wait!
We still make records to be listened to — not that everyone will listen to a record track one to twelve in a row or side A or Side B — but we still make 'em in case somebody does want to listen to it like that, that's how we make em…

Was hoping to go through the liner notes while doing my first, high quality listen, but it looks like every store is going to be closed. Might be an adventure.

OK, but nowhere did I suggest it wasn't also my opinion; I think you read my "to be fair" as a defense of the writer, when it was actually a defense of Tree's "tone"; so your "yes but" was not needed

Good morning. I just read your review of Pearl Jam's Gigaton, and while I agree with a 3/5 rating, you made many errors in your write-up. Firstly, their last record was not ‘Lightening Speed’ (2013), it was Lightning Bolt. Secondly, the song is not Superblood Woman, it's Superblood Wolfmoon, and you have a spelling error following, as you wrote "am album highlight". Third, Hail Hail was not released in 2011, it was released with their album No Code back in 1996. A simple Google search could have helped you so much here. Then, you mention "hip-shaking swagger and clever time signatures". I'm not sure what song you were listening to, but if you are talking about Superblood Wolfmoon, you might have been listening to the wrong song. It is in a very simple 4/4 throughout. Then, you misspelled Mike McCready's name, as Mcreedy. Then you say "2002’s ‘Riot Act’, which was all furious punk medleys". This is incorrect. The album simply is not filled with all punk medleys. Finally, you wrote "But the question is whether anyone is still listening any more? With this multi-faceted record, the answer is likely yes. It just won’t change your life". Question mark shouldn't be at the end of that first statement. Please do a little bit of research next time you publish a review like this. This is embarrassing for you and NME. Thank you.
Boy I've met some socially inept people in my life but I'm just continually blown away by you

Yeah, I never do this either, but I might toy around with it for this album.

HDTracks is usually more miss than hit when it comes to liner notes, but, I'll let you know when I buy if the full booklet is included; if so, I'll gladly e-mail it to you.

You might want to crunch those numbers again. Pretty sure I'm not 90% hate-worthy.

Yeah, I don't understand Jorge's "socially inept" comment, here. It's not like I'm trying to ask her out on a date or something.

I did. Once they said I needed to opt into something, I hung up.
