I think that’s why the response to S/T was so positive, because there were several real rock songs on it. An ideal Pearl Jam has a mix between hard rock songs, midtempo songs, and a few slower songs.

But does it sound like Ten/Vs era? No.

Really? It could be from that period easily i reckon.
I can’t hear it being from any other time.
But it’s great if you can.

It’s now I guess. That’s what’s important.
Yes, sounds nearly 0% like Ten/Vs to me, 90% like S/T period. Would have been a top 4-5 song on that album.

It kinda reminds me of Blood. Its a song they could have done on Vs and of course, in Avocado.

Nothing on ST comes close in terms of success of purpose or song structure or even heart.

But mileage always varies.

It would embarrass every other song on that record had it been on it.

Where would you place it on the tracklist as it exists?

Embarass every song? Far from it.

I’ll work out a tracklist for us when I hear the full official version of Gigaton.

I would have been happy if it replaced Comatose though.

Hmm. I'm a bit surprised reading the reactions. I've listened 3 times and I even like Superblood Wolfmoon more than this. Dance being the standout so far. Not very happy. Maybe it'll come...

Quick escape would be somewhere in the 5-8 range. If the S/T songs sounded as good as the Gigaton songs, or if they were filtered through S/ST's production it's a larger number.

I have NO Idea what you guys are talking about. This song sounds most like Alone or Breath, which is a sound that Self/Titled sounded nothing like...Self/Titled sounded like a bunch of songs in the vein of the Who or something they had lost that Dave-A esque groove which is here on this track

Yeah. The cymbal work and rhythm structure screams Ten/Vs outtake. The only aspect of this song that remotely connects to ST is some of the vocal layering.
There's the dog. You can't fake that stuff. Confess with your mouth.

One listen so far ... do the drums feel just a fraction of a fraction of a step behind everything else?

Breath? Ed sounds completely different, than he did then. Even the music isn’t similar at all.
