We still make records to be listened to — not that everyone will listen to a record track one to twelve in a row or side A or Side B — but we still make 'em in case somebody does want to listen to it like that, that's how we make em…

This sounds incredible. The feels like what Binaural wanted to sound like.

Yes.BootsToAsses wrote:So, how does one find the supposed FLAC files without asking for said FLAC files. Do I just aimlessly browse the internet hoping for inspiration??
Everything's perfectly all right now. We're fine. We're all fine here, now, thank you. How are you?

In a lot of ways, it’s as successful at creating depth of space as either that record or Riot Act...but it also has more layered parts on hand to take advantage of the resulting open field. Individual parts don’t get quite as much room to reveal themselves (with exceptions), but what we get instead is a high def wide lens perspective of constant, churning motion.Thejambi wrote:This sounds incredible. I'm waiting for my vinyl delivery from Rough Trade. They've said their deliveries might be delayed due to Covid-19 distancing. Would take a Saturday delivery but that might be optimistic.

I really wonder how much the long gestation and wfh aspects of this thing helped on the songwriting side. Instead of making early decisions about songs and styles based on what sounded good in a room with the band, they were experiencing the developing songs as recordings, evaluating ideas on record first and sometimes not even knowing how the same pieces would behave together in a live setting…maybe for the first time ever.

That's a great point. We know for a fact that the past few records were primarily composed with an eye towards the stage. It seems like their previous recording style of having them book a few weeks in the studio to bang through some song ideas and record might have caused those songs to just be rushed. With everyone coming in and contributing at their own pace this time, it sounds like it really gave the songs time to breathe. I hope they continue this process!

While listening to the album you can livestream the aurora borealis at this time of year, at this time of day, in this part of the country, localised entirely within your room of choice.

It’s the opposite Strat. If people don’t like this album they quite simply don’t like Pearl Jam anymore. It’s not you it’s them.Strat wrote:Im afraid of being called a fanboy if i state how much I love this album.
