Re: The Official GIGATON Thread
I really like both "Take the Long Way" and "Never Destination" but I have no idea why they decided to turn the bass all the way down for those two songs.

I look forward to seeing your full list in the ranking thread.PHATJ wrote:Mostly agreed. A sensible person can like many songs on S/T, possibly even wrongfully thinking they equate to the awesomeness that is Gigaton. I do think there are a few very good songs on Backspacer and Lightning Bolt. I can both disagree and understand someone saying all of Gigaton is better.
But I think it's more of a stretch saying all of Gigaton is better than all of S/T.

the visualizers are fucking excellent and really help me situate this album, aesthetically and sonically, alongside the Yield-Binaural era

Thinking about the song ranking thread for the last four albums. I liked your list from the previous three albums a lot. One that aligned with my own taste more than most.PHATJ wrote:1. I liked yours as well, a few outliers, but that makes it interesting. Man, I’m completely in love with this album. Re: The Official GIGATON Thread
I got home from work two days ago, and just crashed on the couch with headphones on. My girlfriend was having a shower, and the baby was sleeping. As she got out of the shower, she saw me listening to the album on headphones, and she said: "you've been listening to that album a lot!". I just smiled, but I thought: "this is just the beginning". So happy we have this album to listen to from here onwards.PHATJ wrote:I liked yours as well, a few outliers, but that makes it interesting. Man, I’m completely in love with this album.
