Its such a weird game because the distances, pacing and story are all kind of similar in that they seem long and grindy but also kind of short. Sometimes it works and you push through that last obstacle just as you're losing hope and get this rush of accomplishment, and sometimes it just feels grindy and slow and then suddenly it's over.

Definitely one of the weirder games I've ever played. I feel like it wants you to explore but it also wants you to dread exploring and stick to the story. A lot of people thought Red Dead 2 was too easy but I really liked that about it compared to this game. It made you unafraid to check out the whole map.

I agree. I find that sometimes it does work REALLY well and it's kinda up to the player or chance when it does work. It's often a create-your-own-journey/story. It can work wonderfully or be dull and boring, depending on your perspective and planning and everything. I think that's what I love about it. But I can now easily see why some people hate it.

But even if you hate the game play, I think the story is super creative and wonderful... and the acting and music is great and all well worth experiencing.

tree, did you beat this? I am actually really enjoying the post-game. Finding things I missed before and realizing there are some things (like jumping really far with the speed suit) that I never actually tried the first time around.

I have not beaten it yet. I've taken a break because I got hooked on Rocket League again. I was taking my time with it, so I don't think I've missed much so far. I probably would have beaten it if not, as I'm over like 35 hours into it.

Kojima is not from this world
Sometimes I wanna drive around and find you
And act like it's a random thing
