I love themevenslow wrote:the visualizers are pretty damn top notch.
I kiiind of wish they'd made one for SBWM, but I get why they didn't, they don't want to take the spotlight away from the Tiny Concert collab

This seems like a thing now, where parts of the video play within spotify. I've seen it with Grimes and Nathaniel Rateliff recently and now with Gigaton.

Yeah. Maybe literally every single one.Kalevi wrote:The last 30 to 60 seconds of almost every song on this record increases it's score by at least .5

Re: The Official GIGATON Thread
this is the exact kind of commitment and attention to detail that was sorely missing on Backspacer and LB.Jaeti wrote:Yeah. Maybe literally every single one.Kalevi wrote:The last 30 to 60 seconds of almost every song on this record increases it's score by at least .5

Ha, in Pitchfork/Pearl Jam context, that review is nearly glowing.

I hear “Pitchfork” given all this great import on this site and others. Why the fuck am I supposed to give more weight to their review than other music sites again?sweeper wrote:This is the real Pitchfork review: https://pitchfork.com/reviews/albums/pearl-jam-gigaton/
They gave it a 6.2. I think they started reviewing albums with Riot Act. These are the scores:
Gigaton: 6.2
Lightning Bolt: 5.0
Backspacer: 4.6
Avocado: 5.5
Riot Act: 4.9
In other words, the best album since at least Binaural. =)

Re: The Official GIGATON Thread
from the Dynamic Range Database - Gigaton scores an average of 7 on a scale of 0-14+. right square in the middle. the most "dynamic" tracks are Alright and Comes Then Goes.

My wife was watching HGTV this morning and a commercial for the album came on. It was just nature shots during the chorus of Quick Escape and "available now".

Just went back to read their reviews of BS-Gigaton. They do describe the flaws of pj albums quite well.
