I agree, I'm just saying that songs which can "compete" are not necessarily better, but they're not necessarily worse either; we've had like a week with these songs, I'm not about to announce they're the best thing this band has ever done

Man I'm not seeing that at all. Ed has his occasional hangups but otherwise I think they're progressing.

I feel WES is their best opener since Last Exit. Seven O'Clock is a truly great song, there are very few mid-tempo songs they've done that are clearly better.

Those are pretty simple in comparison though? I like the aggression of Animal, Ed shines on the chorus of Porch, Last exit is catchy and dark, etc. They all have their appeal but Whoever Said is more interesting. I forgot about RVM though- It definitely contends. Maybe Insignificance too.
