I think there's some really cool stuff going on there, like this session

But I don't think I could listen to this kind of stuff for an extended period of time. It gets tiresome after a while for me.
is that Snow on bass?

Been dropping back into this album (To Rococo Rot's The Amateur View) a lot the last few days, it reminds me so vividly of being 17 in 1999, hanging around in pubs, clubs and playing music with people much older than I was (though much younger than I am now).

I need to put together a Spotify playlist of stuff that taps right into this vein of '99/early'00 Y2K-ish stuff; this album, Air's Virgin Suicides OST, Stereolab's Cobra and Phases, etc.

This song popped up on iTunes and I hadn't thought about it in a long while

I never really listen to Garbage anymore but this and "The World is Not Enough" are good examples of how at their best they excelled at a certain type of elegant, dramatic, lush orchestral pop. I think this may be my favorite Garbage song, and the video is really good.

While training on a recent job for a couple of weeks I've had to listen to a modern metal station constantly. I had previously thought the Brittany Spears genre and modern country were the most generic of all time but modern metal seems the worst. I think i can break it down into 2 sub catagories. 1. Linkin Park clones without the rap but with a generic song structure of dull, generic as can be verses, the universal riff style for all modern metal groups and clean non melodic, generic chorus lines followed by screamed, generic chorus lines. 2. 100% generic instrumentally and vocally with cookie monster style growling throughout.

Yet I remain open minded if someone knows of a few bands who break the mold .

I find Liam and Noel Gallagher hilarious but I don't know how I feel about the music sometimes.

I chuckled at the thought of a thrashing “C is for cookie which is good enough for me!”
