Radio waves travel at the speed of light, which is approximately 186,000 miles per second. The repeating signal was traced to a massive spiral galaxy around 500 million light-years away.

"Called them, they haven't called me back. Got a piece of asteroid sticking out of my spine. Kinda fucked innit?"

Could still be a 100.000 years. A short time for a star, but very long for a human. We don't know yet.

Betelgeuse is the brightest star in the night sky. It is calculated to be about 642.5 light-years from Earth. This also means that, if we see Betelgeuse explode tonight, the supernova really took place over 600 years ago, we're only seeing it now.

so the boy and i just went for a walk when the sun just set. outside of venus, which is unbelievably bright right now, betelgeuse is super bright. we also noticed that you can actually see the reddish/orange hue, particularly compared to the other star in orion's shoulder.

i also found out that the star is pronounced "beetle juice."

that is all.
