Same here. I've got some dynamite headphones, but, they're open-back, which isn't an issue when working home alone in the isolated way I always have. It's clearly much more intrusive to put them on when my wife is sitting next to me at her desk having zoom meetings & making phone calls.

I really need a great set of closed-back cans.

She's thankfully a massive Pearl Jam fan, but, by the same token, she couldn't care any less about trying to decode the lyrics to this album with me during the day or hearing me exclaim loudly during parts of these songs

I'm Canadian (and quite liberal) but i could do without thinking about Trump while listening to this great album...so i suppose i could go for something slightly more subtle than the "sitting bullshit" line.

I got the same. I did not know there were multiple etchings.

I thought it was a joke on how you can see your reflection, like a black mirror on black vinyl.

Cool that people are getting unique messages.

I got "Is This You?" on side D and then the other etching was, "This One Took A While."

They may have tried some new stuff on this one, but, songs don't fall out of the sky, either. Did some of you think these five guys would wake up one day as different people? It's baked in, at this point, and has been for a very long time.

There may be a few explicit jabs, but, if anything, in a lot of ways, the political sentiments expressed in the lyrics are far more empathetic to those of different values than they've ever been.

I think Josh did a good job of handling some of EV's vocal quirks in the mix. Like if you listen very carefully in Who Ever Said, the high harmony on the word "all" in "all been said" is deftly buried as it's a squeaker. Nice work Josh.

I just fucking love this album. I have a few friends that I once got to share in the excitement and wonder of pearl jam. Concerns, albums, all the things.

They have moved on from Rock music in general so i dont think they even care to listen to this album and that makes me sad.

But, life goes on.

I have RM.

I love it too, man. So much. And it came at the perfect time.

We got it guys! This is what we've been hoping for, for years! I told myself this wasn't possible, but here we are and Pearl Jam is perfecting past musical ideas and expanding what their capable of.

Sadly, my three closest PJ friends (toured all over the country with one of them) have turned into conservative talk radio listeners and have either lost their musical hearts or are just brainwashed that anything from left can't be good. I'm working on one of them really hard right now and I think he will come around, but it still makes me sad for them, and for me. Glad I get to read all of RM's excitement. Keep posting!

The "quirks" which everyone adores are definitely more prominent on the record than I believed they'd be though reading everyone's thoughts, but,
Josh Evans did a great job in pushing the vocal back in the mix when he needed to, or making the instrumentation more prominent, in certain instances.

That's not to diminish Ed's performance on the record at all, and I'm not implying in any way that anything is being covered for. He's insanely comfortable with himself on this one.
