I know Canada is restricting international travel to just four airports and primarily for inbound Canadian travellers to get home. The border to US is even c!used to all but essential travel, such as trucking. Canada and IS are huge countries that require planes just to travel within the country. So unless travel within country is eliminated then flights will continue.dimejinky99 wrote:You guys need to close your airports

Re: Anybody want a Corona?
They said today that US air travel is down from 2.5 million passengers per day to 200,000 on Monday. I can't believe 200,000 people are willing to get on a plane.surfndestroy wrote:I know Canada is restricting international travel to just four airports and primarily for inbound Canadian travellers to get home. What the hell is with the Governor of Florida rejecting cruise ships full of people (real, suffering, human beings), but he can't be bothered to issue a "Stay at Home" order.

I hope people in NY are thanking god they didn’t elect Cynthia Nixon just like I’m thanking god my state didn’t elect Ben Jealous.

Could be, but not necessarily.Bammer wrote:Can’t find details on the New Yorker under age 18 who died.
Underlying health problems???
If a virus gets to your heart, you have no chance. Doesn't happen a lot, luckily.

There was an underlying cause, as I quoted on the past page.Angus wrote:Could be, but not necessarily.Bammer wrote:Can’t find details on the New Yorker under age 18 who died.

But there are a few kids worldwide that have died without underlying causes.

We have a 12 year old girl in Belgium meanwhile. Strange story though. Not yet entirely sure what happened.

I think it’s bullshit they are being so secretive about any given victim’s underlying condition. Everyone should know the full scope of risk factors and who it is affecting.Anders wrote:«It Attacks Everyone:’ NYC Loses 1st Child to Virus as State Deaths Eclipse 1,300; NJ Cases Soar. Yeah and a TON of laws are being adjusted on the fly in this unprecedented situation. The public deserves to know. They don’t have to give names.Monkey_Driven wrote:We have laws Bammer!Bammer wrote:I think it’s bullshit they are being so secretive about any given victim’s underlying condition. Quote:
Public health experts have previously excoriated Trump's early efforts to downplay the threat of the virus, stating that it robbed the US of valuable time needed to prepare for the pandemic — potentially costing thousands of lives.
Trump spent "two months of completely ignoring every bit of scientific advice," Dr. Ashish Jha, the director of the Harvard Global Health Institute, told Insider earlier this month. "We've wasted two months. And this is not a disease where you're allowed to waste two months."
Jha, a general internist who received his MD from Harvard Medical School, slammed Trump for telling Americans everything was "under control" when it "was very clear to anybody paying attention that it was not under control."
"I don't use these words lightly, and it's incredibly painful for me to say it," he said, adding: "The cost of all of this is that tens of thousands of Americans are going to die unnecessarily ... It was wholly preventable, and not just preventable in hindsight — it was preventable in foresight. Everybody said this is how it was going to play out if they didn't act."
He says he knew how bad it was going to be from the start. He pats himself on the back for stopping travel from China. Meanwhile, he held numerous rallies, took no other actions in order to try keep the Stock Market healthy, accused those trying to warn people about the severity of the virus of trying to do their best to damage his re-election chances, and just last week was trying to get people back to work by Easter.
His words and actions have undoubtedly results in tens of thousands more Americans dying from Covid-19 than otherwise would have. One cannot downplay the impact his "Trump speak" has had in this.
