Whenever there's active promotion on the part of somebody else, whenever I see somebody all dolled up for a fancy photograph and someone's handing out flyers or whenever there's active promotion for something like that, as an imposition on my day, I hate all those people and I want them to fail. I have a visceral reaction to advertising and promotion. There's just something about salesmanship that grates on me on a very base level and I react very negatively towards it. I want those people to suffer and I want their enterprises to fail.

Even when he's treading lightly, Boyle's movies have some weight to them. Love what they did with Lennon in this.

Hmm... I don't believe I ever replaced my Shallow Grave VHS.
I need to revisit the Trainspotting sequel, I was in the wrong company and the entirely wrong mindset to watch it initially.

I loved the concept of Yesterday, and was very eager to see it. Felt the first half as really good, but then it more or less lost what it was going for. Very typical of comedies.

it did kind of create a weird kind of paradox that fucked with me just a bit. Still, loved it.

The Lennon Paradox and the Wonderwall Paradox were the only two things I got hung up on and had to fight to willfully suspend disbelief on. Very minor issues, overall.

Two things that I fucking LOVED about the movie though were how the blackout is never explained and how nothing "goes back to normal" or returns to the way it was in the end. This is just the world now, no excuses, no "waking up from a dream," no clicking your heels. Just fucking great.

Oh I loved it. Lennon was such an angry fellow. It felt good to imagine a world in which he'd found some peace with age, and enjoyed creating art absent of fame. Seemed like the perfect way to honor the best of who he could have been rather than the worst.

I think they got Lennon all wrong. I don’t see him as an angry fellow, but certainly someone with a lot of strong opinions. A joker as well. A lover of life.

Parasite - loved the acting and scenery; just too long
The Hunt - a good "bad" movie; some clever things in it
The Invisible Man - decent, but repetitive types of scenes got a bit tiresome
The Way Back - very predictable and straight forward; but still a decent movie

I absolutely loved yesterday and Blinded by the Light as well.

Both just hit my sweet spot in the feel good category. Such fun films

Also Downhill - Wut.

Will Farrell and Julia Louis.....

This was marketed way wrong and I have a feeling that the Studio maybe had no clue what to do with it? Or maybe they thought they were getting a classic slapstick will farrel comedy?

This was more along the lines of Everything Must Go? maybe?

It was a bit touching, a little intense, some very minor humor.

There were some major fails in the writing and storytelling (could have used a bit more information as to why the marriage was at the point it was), so i get the bad reviews, but i think it was much much better than that.
