Seriously, I just don't like it. I like plenty of other songs with unusual time signatures. Next to PJ I think Tool is probably the band I listen to most, who are well known for their easy 3 minute long 4/4 structured songs. But please go ahead with your easy generalisation.
Seems like a lot on this board is still as arrogant as when I left it years ago.

In LV's defence I think he was targeting a certain stereotype of a meathead PJ fan, and not suggesting that you're a "Bro" - you're about as far away from that as you can get (and believe me, that's a compliment friend )

Not terrible songs like there have been on the last few records.
It's not bad but I don't get much emotionally, musically or lyrically from Comes then goes which seems to have very few votes and lots of praise.
Of those receiving the most votes - SBWM as a single was not good but it works well in sequence for me; I can't understand the choice as a single. Retrograde sounds like a Backspacer song and production (more so than LB which I've seen mentioned - almost identical mix to Amongst the Waves) - and not surprised to see this was from a Brendan O'Brien session. It's not terrible though.
While a Western guitar motif lost on the swings drum bass fusion, get your own thoughts into the subconscious often forgotten. "Pendulum" is a sweeping soul from the ballast.
I really don't understand the hate for Retrograde, it's a pretty calm song. I will concede it reminds me of Backspacer but with a more mature sound. I guess it also sounds a bit like The Ascent of Man from R.E.M.

I don't "hate" it. It's just clearly the worst song on the album.

What do you consider the worst song?
To me it's Come Then Goes, it reminds me of Gone or Thumbing My Way and I just don't like that style. But it's not an awful song, it just isn't clicking for me.

well in fairness every song on Gigaton is better than ascent of man
