How's the Hummingbird, Dougray? I need a better acoustic. And a bass. Maybe a strat and a smaller amp.

Any of you gearheads found a good solution for remote jamming? I'm starting to get real itchy not being able to write music with my bandmates.

Re: Gearhead Thread
Never done live remote, but if you use the same DAW you can share projects/collaborate that way. Less than ideal, I know.

Re: Gearhead Thread
yeah we've dabbled a bit in that too. me and the other guitar player sometimes collaborate that way with mixed results. It would be great to find something that is collaborative though cause the drummer and singer don't have a DAW or recording setup.Self wrote:Never done live remote, but if you use the same DAW you can share projects/collaborate that way. I just did a yoga/music thing on zoom. I played guitar and my girlfriend taught. I ran everything through my m audio (amp to maudio to computer) and routed everything thorugh Loopback app.
It seemed to work pretty good. Never done it collaborating with another musician though.

Re: Gearhead Thread
I just got a Peavey Classic 20 mini head. I love my VTM 60, but it's way too fucking loud for everyday use. The mini switches down to 5 and 1 watt, has a headphone jack, USB and XLR out all with speaker sim. 2 channels, both with a boost option via included footswitch. Clean is really good; breaks up nice when pushed and takes the OCD really well. Dirt channel has plenty of gain for a classic rock voiced amp, too. This is gonna make the stay-at-home order much more bearable for all of us. I'll try to record something with it and see how it compares to the VTM.
Was a really good deal, too. Basically a brand new amp that was used as a store demo. List is $600 and I got it for $400; warranty intact. Found it on Reverb and it was 40 minutes away, so I went on a covert COVID mission. Guy came out in a hazmat suit, assured me it was all disinfected and just placed it in the trunk, when I showed up. You bet your ass I disinfected it again, when I got home.

Right now, a 4x12 with Vintage 30s. I have a a 2x12 with Scorpions that I'm gonna try at some point, but I'm pretty sure it won't sound as good. It doesn't with the VTM.Strat wrote:What cab are you running it with?Self wrote:I just got a Peavey Classic 20 mini head. I love my VTM 60, but it's way too fucking loud for everyday use. Re: Gearhead Thread
Haha, dick. I have one Ibanez. It's a '93 SF470 that I've had since '93. I use it for Strat tones. It's a damn fine guitar and it's black, Dougray. So far, I've only had a chance to play the LP special through it.doug rr wrote:you strumming your neon green ibanez roadstar through that?Self wrote:Right now, a 4x12 with Vintage 30s. Re: Gearhead Thread
Alright, Douglas. Here's the SF470 through the Classic's clean channel. Sorry for the playing. It was just a little improv, lest Dougray think I should be playing RATT songs with this guitar.
