Will Farrell and Julia Louis.....
This was marketed way wrong and I have a feeling that the Studio maybe had no clue what to do with it? Or maybe they thought they were getting a classic slapstick will farrel comedy?
This was more along the lines of Everything Must Go? maybe?
It was a bit touching, a little intense, some very minor humor.
There were some major fails in the writing and storytelling (could have used a bit more information as to why the marriage was at the point it was), so i get the bad reviews, but i think it was much much better than that.

I’m interested in Blinded by the Light. An alienated kid loving Bruce Springsteen is a very different pitch than “WHAT IF THE BEATLES NEVER EXISTED?!”doug rr wrote:yep, LV is just a jerkStrat wrote:I absolutely loved yesterday and Blinded by the Light as well.

What I found awful about Yesterday was all the romantic stuff, it was completely unbelievable

Bad Boys 2.
Holy shit i forgot this movie was so exaggerated. Its almost a parody, almost a prequel of The Other Guys. Also, the whole cuban scene is hilarious....the guy who helps them is called Tito
Its stunning though.

Underwater
I had fun, it borrows a lot from better movies but its still ok. And kristen stewart is always a good thing for me.

Blue Steel
Story wise it doesnt make any sense, its just bonkers but looks gorgeous, the colors are beautiful and it has 1988 NY and Jamie Lee Curtis so it was fine.

I watched ALIEN for the first time last night.
Loved it. Excellent. 4.5 stars
Tonight it's Aliens. I probably won't bother with any of the others in the series after that. I get the impression they're not very good.

Re: What movies are you watching?
That was actually key to my being able to accept the premise. When I saw the first trailer I said it wouldn't make sense literally because of bands like Oasis. I'm so glad they agreed that.bune wrote:the best gag in that movie is that Oasis doesn't exist. too funny.durdencommatyler wrote:I liked Yesterday WAY more than I thought I would. Alien 3 is fucking GREAT (I actually like it more than Aliens; super unpopular opinion, I know).Farmer John wrote:I watched ALIEN for the first time last night.

I also like Prometheus, too.

The recent sequels are flawed but good. I really like Prometheus, and the other one isn't too bad.durdencommatyler wrote:Alien 3 is fucking GREAT (I actually like it more than Aliens; super unpopular opinion, I know).Farmer John wrote:I watched ALIEN for the first time last night.

Which one had Wynona Ryder in it? That was awful.

Depending how sold you get on the storyline itself I'd say each film has positive qualities. I enjoy Alien 3 quite a bit, probably more than most including David Fincher.Farmer John wrote:I watched ALIEN for the first time last night.

I didn't realize David Fincher directed Alien 3.
