Loved it. Excellent. 4.5 stars

Tonight it's Aliens. I probably won't bother with any of the others in the series after that. I get the impression they're not very good.
Alien 3 is fucking GREAT (I actually like it more than Aliens; super unpopular opinion, I know).

I also like Prometheus, too.
The recent sequels are flawed but good. I really like Prometheus, and the other one isn't too bad.

Which one had Wynona Ryder in it? That was awful.
That was the fourth one, Alien: Resurrection. I haven't seen it since it's original theatrical run but I remember really not liking it.

Alien3 is great. Just make sure to watch the Assembly Cut.

Resurrection sucks. Prometheus and Covenant rule once you get past how stupidly the characters behave.

Is the Assembly Cut easy to find? The version that's available on one of the steaming services I subscribe to looks like it's the theatrical cut. (It's runtime is 1hr 54m).

It’s available on DVD and Blu-ray. Not sure about streaming services. It’s a very different experience than the theatrical cut.

I believe it is marketed as the 'Special Edition' on streaming sites.

I'm glad we feel similar about these movies. I know a lot of people that hate Prometheus and Covenant, but I think they are beatiful movies. The flaws are definitely in the characters, but it doesn't bug me too much. I just wish Noomi was back for another one, but they kind of wrote her out of it with Covenant, I guess.

I loooove the Alien series. Love all of them, and both Prometheus and Covenant are so fucking good, so twisted, to beautiful. I hope Ridley gets to make the final one.

I remember seeing the original in the theater opening weekend. I have seen all the M:I sequels but the first is the only one that I really care for.

I love all of them, with the second one being plain bad. I might saw it again anyway. But the series got super strong in the last couple of entries.

I had the cassette single for the theme, it might have been the first analog thing I ever transferred to a PC.
The first sequel had Limp Bizkit so...

That cast man...Tom, Jon Voight, Emilio Estevez, Vanessa Redgrave, Henry Czerny, Jean Reno, Kristin Scott Thomas....
And how cool and subversive is to have the main guy from series as the baddie?

4 and 3 are my favorite entries. De Palma is one of my favorite directors and I watched M:I a million times as a kid but it hasn’t held up super well for me. It’s solid but not much more.
