Me too. Some of those songs were starting to feel unnatural.

It's hard, man. Everyone loves that stupid song and keeps posting like it's the best thing since sliced bread and I'm sitting over here like "wuh?!"

I think it's the Pendulum of Gigaton for me. A song which I suspect (and yes, I know this is unfair) is popular primarily because it has a superficial similarity to other, better songs the band wrote earlier in their career, not because it's a great song in its own right.

I really like Quick Escape but I do find it very opaque; there's not much to discover in subsequent listens, it sort of punches you in the face with everything it has; maybe that's a good example of what has changed from Pearl Jam's Ten period to their middle period, nuance - something (I think) they lost again in the last three albums

Alright is still probably my favorite song right now, just by the emotional reaction I can still get from it.

But, for any given listen, one of these are also in the running:

Who Ever Said
Dance of the Clairvoyants
Quick Escape
Seven O'Clock
Comes Then Goes

It's like sex, guys. Who Ever Said is foreplay, SBWM is trying to get your pants off and rolling off the bed, DOTC is the climax, and Quick Escape is strutting around the bedroom post-coitus while helicoptering your dick. Alright is crying in the shower. The album is a journey.

Right now:

Fit to stand with my favorite PJ material:
Take the Long Way
Dance of the Clairvoyants
Buckle Up

Really like, and liking it more on each listen:
Seven O'Clock

Really like, but not climbing:
Quick Escape
Comes Then Goes

Didn't like much in the beginning, but am enjoying more now!
Who Ever Said
Superblood Wolfmoon
Never Destination

Probably won't seek out much on its own but really enjoy in the full album context:
Alright

Still not feeling:
River Cross
Retrograde

can't relate ;)

"foreplay" is a social construct, it's all sex to me

After several spins on this thing, here are some of the similarities/parallels I hear with the rest of the catalogue:

Who Ever Said - Breakerfall/Sad
Superblood Wolfmoon - Grievance (though not nearly as good)
Dance of the Clairvoyants - Who You Are (in spirit only)
Quick Escape - Half Full/No Way
Alright - Pendulum/Oceans
Seven O'clock - hardest one to find a comparison
Never Destination - Black Red Yellow/Supersonic
Take the Long Way - Get Right/Red Mosquito (RM because of the outro)
Buckle Up - I'm Open/Parachutes
Comes Then Goes - Far Behind
Retrograde - Sirens/Present Tense
River Cross - Long Road
