This should easily end up being of my favorites of the year. Way too early to be certain but this shit is so far up my alley that it hurts.dad wrote:yeah, that whole thing is so good.durdencommatyler wrote:Saint Cloud - Waxahatchee

Re: Now Playing
Absolutely. I had heard it a long time ago, forgot all about it, then decided to get on a mini Aerosmith kick with those albums. The sound is right up my ally and there are some great gritty songs on it. "Chiquita" is one I'm specifically thinking of, what a nice surprise! Similarly, Draw the Line had some pleasant surprises. I don't think I'd listened to that album, sans the song Draw the Line, in like 20 years. The title track is flat out one of their best songs, while Critical Mass, Kings & Queens, The Hand That Feeds, Get It Up and their cover of Milk Cow Blues are all good. Neither beat Rocks, my personal favorite. I should probably go ahead and revisit Toys in the Attic and Get Your Wings while I'm at it. I've never listened to Done With Mirrors, have you?Wendy Carlos's Twin wrote:An unfiarly maligned album.darth_vedder wrote:Not necessarily playing now, but here are artists and albums I've listened to over the last few weeks:

I've never heard Done With Mirrors! It's funny you should mention it, because I was thinking about checking it out when I read your post. It inspired me to whip out "Box Of Fire" and slap on NITR. I think my favorite song on there is "Three Mile Smile" with "Chiquita" a close second. "Draw The Line" is also great, my favorite song being "Sight For Sore Eyes". That's some funky shit. But as you know, it's a very badly recorded album and doesn't have the balls and crunch of NITR.darth_vedder wrote:Absolutely. Oh man, yeah, Three Mile Smile is a good one too. It, Chiquita, No Surprise, and Bone To Bone are probably my favorites. After I'm done with Toys and Wings, I think I'll check out Mirrors on Spotify.

Bob Dylan Bootleg Series Vol. 11, The Complete Basement Types: Discs 5 and 6...ngl, these were a chore and disc 6 was aggressively annoying.
