The "cradle to the grave" and "ventricles pumping" lines are two of them
what's wrong with them?
I know you aren't asking me but I will say that I don't dislike either line other than he says "room to tomb" instead of "womb to tomb." That bugs the shit out of me.
I always heard "womb" but I could be wrong lol
The liner notes say "room" but that doesn't mean that's what Ed's actually saying, I suppose.

I really like the way Ed sings "satisfaction."

It's still somewhat of a stock opener. It's not a complaint - just nothing special.

this works in spite of the lack of bite in the guitars, I just wish there was a little more RARGGGH instead of jingle jangle at the beginning

listening right now, melting my face. Best opener since what...cant keep? I think its even better than Breakerfall or Life Wasted.

Binaural is my favorite album, and I probably after with this. Though I think I like it more than Can't Keep.

This song has a great elastic thing going on where it could go in any number of directions in a live setting. I love the breakdown and rebuild at the end after a few listens. It gives the song more a purpose than a stock post Riot Act opener. I’d say it’s their best opening track since Brain of J (which actually might be my favorite track to open a Pearl Jam album - that, or Last Exit).

Im a huge fan of Breakerfall and Life Wasted, those two mean a lot to me. Cant Keep too. And still, i feel this one is superior.

My thoughts exactly. The more I listen the bigger and better thins one gets. It could be an 8 track ala Corduroy or RVM. I loved the 2:30 mark onwards after the second listen, but now I am really enjoying what Stone is doing in the beginning. It takes me back to the feeling I got from him on Hail, Hail.

I thought that was all Ed in the beginning, what is Stone doing?

I haven't paid any attention to this song's lyrics, but now that I've read this I am never going to be able to hear this line without imagining it to the tune of "Takin' Care of Business," so thanks a lot.

With the caveat that the opener slot is pretty stacked I'd place it right around hereish

1. Last Exit
2. Life Wasted
3. Go
4. Brain of J
5. Who Ever Said
6. Gonna See My Friend
7. Once
8. Can't Keep
9. Breakerfall
10. Getaway
11. Sometimes

It almost certainly won't catch the top 3. If it ages well it could go as high as 4. It could also drop as low as 9, but will stay ahead of my bottom 3.
