Theatrical cut of aliens is far superior. You find out what they’re all walking into as they do, the suspense is more effective.

The extended cut is a masterclass in atmosphere and pacing. Absolutely flawless. Love the glimpses of life on the planet before hell breaks loose. Love the stuff about Ripley’s daughter; essential background to why her bond with Newt is so strong. The TC is worthless to me.
