If the end result is positive, does that make the hypocrisy ok?
not if there is a more positive alternative

In this situation is there a more positive alternative?
what do you think

Choice 1: Accept the invitation to play a private party at the superbowl for an airplane company that solely caters to the bourgeoisie and represents the most polluting form of travel available right now, on the eve of releasing a climate-change themed album; and accept their donation to my charity and use it for good (not confirmed)

or

Choice 2: don't do those things and instead raise money for my charity by promoting a good cause

Yeah I'm probably thinking about it wrong... I was thinking of it as like a party for the company execs.
But it was probably more a campaign to entertain new business :(

And it's true EV can hold a benefit concert any day of the year and pull in all types of fucking cash.

Lbc, green disease, you are, i am mine
The riot act hits:

Song ruined by silly title

Forgettable up tempo money song

Love is a tower

Sea shanty

If there is a transcendent song on Riot Act it's probably Thumbing my Way

If the Russian mafia is going to have a concert anyway, why can’t we fly to Moscow with our private jets, and donate part of the money to charity? Better than if Aerosmith did it, and donated nothing.

Ed is basically Batman. We just don't see all the do gooding he is accomplishing in the shadows of Gotham City.

I thought it was essentially a running joke.
I have always seen this in two components:
1) running joke regarding “money-grabbing”
2) serious critique of the music and what seems to drive it

It seems that the Super Bowl Events of 2020 have provided ample fuel for #1 to thrive, and perhaps even grow

It also seems that the lead single from the upcoming album begins to address #2 in an exciting way

To me it really is just about creating challenging music (from all angles) and I’m glad they released such a song as a lead single. They did the same with No Code and Binaural. I like those versions of this band.

for me it’s all about low quality production values music videos and $84 album vinyl and $28 sticker sets and private jets and dicks and fix and file things

Not the only 90s band doing cringe worthy gigs for billionaires.
While a Western guitar motif lost on the swings drum bass fusion, get your own thoughts into the subconscious often forgotten. "Pendulum" is a sweeping soul from the ballast.

The memorial was organised by the Tony Hawk Foundation, a charity focused on making skate parks available to today’s youth.

I thought it also had to do with playing baseball stadiums here in the states and soccer stadiums in Australia instead of more proper tours in reasonably sized venues.

I saw them at the United Center once but the seats weren't the best. I lstened to them 'outside' the stadium once at wriggley. The latter was far better sound.
I pledge to be 100% boring and never troll-out again. I will make my interactions here pleasant, like sitting through an agricultural economics class.

While not preferable, the recent trend of baseball stadiums in lieu of proper “touring” does not a money-grab make. However, the sing-along chanting and extended use bird cage stage piece may be a symptom (or cause?) of the aforementioned serious critique
