But I was doing work and had a great semi-attentive experience with ND, TTLW, and Retrograde. Just let them be in my ears a bit more passively than I generally have, but each one reached up and grabbed me several times with good stuff they were doing.durdencommatyler wrote:This thing gets more and more consistent and cohesive with each listen. Re: The Official GIGATON Thread
With all that has been going on in this world, I dropped off of here about when this leaked. I may have already commented, I can't remember, but I keep coming back to this album. Is it Yield or Vitalogy? Maybe not. Is it Ten or Vs.? Definitely not from a popularity perspective. Nevertheless, this album is pretty damn good.... It may even be the best thing I've heard in 2020 so far. Granted, this year is pretty fucked up at this point.

(And I’d argue Binaural and Riot Act as well)

Yield&Binaural. RA is a collection of songs with excellent production.Yield Often wrote:YIELDMonkey_Driven wrote:None of the above.VinylGuy wrote:I agree. Which PJ album is like this? If Star Wars has taught me anything its to try find at least something you like in something you hate.
Despite coming around kind of on never destination, I still really can’t stand Take the long way, but the bridge/breakdown bit is good. Deserves a better song around it but here we are.

For me, the tone and aesthetics are like a better executed, higher quality Avocado. The collaborative, group songwriting spirit does connect it to the Yield-Riot Act era, though.

Take the Long Way is my least favorite on Gigaton, but when I listen to it with Soundgarden in mind, I like it a lot more.dimejinky99 wrote:If Star Wars has taught me anything its to try find at least something you like in something you hate.

Re: The Official GIGATON Thread
yeah Yield is a good choice, the songs there share a sound like in Gigaton. I still feel Ten, Vs and No Code are their strongest front to back albums.
