Performance-wise, I think this is probably the answer. This or "Last Exit."

In terms of studio recording, my vote is for "Around the Bend." I can't overstate how much I love the sound of that recording.

I am totally on board with the nominee (I nominated it, lol) and runner-up (Strangest Tribe is undeniably one of their best recordings). I absolutely believe that Sleight of Hand should be an official nominee. The power of the album version is impossible to duplicate live. The atmosphere is untouchable on that recording, it’s my favorite part of one of my two favorite songs of all time. It’s deserving.

My only hesitation was the second I questioned if it was “truly pj”, but I dismissed that nonsense pretty quickly. It really is an incredible recording. It’s perfect.

Strangest Tribe! The guitar sound is so perfect.

I couldn't possibly vote for Strangest Tribe, however lovely it is; there's virtually no drum presence

yes, it's a nice sounding recording but not a great example of full band performance.

this is why everyone should go along with my suggestion of FAITHFULL.

ed killer vox w/ dynamic range? ✔
double-pronged guitar attack w/ sections of immense groove? ✔
chugging jeff ament bassline w/ fun twists and turns? ✔
JACK FUCKING IRONS??? ✔

I always thought it could use a nice saxophone solo.

It's got to be Yield. Pick any song except maybe MFC. That's the only album where I feel like they captured something in the studio that can't be replicated or improved upon live.

I Got ID is definitely the one for me as well.
Immortality is my close second, something about that studio version, maybe the acoustic solo (at least I think it's acoustic?) vs the live electric one? I don't know.....

I've never heard a live version I liked, but the studio version is perfect.
That was my second choice
