Avocado oil has been a useful addition to the kitchen as of late.

Can we discuss fats in this thread too? What are some things you guys use bacon grease/fat to cook with?

I used to use it for most anything we would sauté or fry, but since going almost exclusively to cast iron, because of its lower smoke point, I don't use it as much anymore. Even then tho, I'll put a spoonful of it in there if I want the smoky, bacony flavor.

I use bacon grease to make refried beans, helps add salt too so its a nice two birds with one stone situation.

eggs in bacon grease every weekend..if you're not using lard to make pies and other rich dishes you should be..you deserve it every now and then

Have more habaneros than I know what to do with. Just made a batch of olive oil infused with habanero. Now going to try a habanero extract.

I’ve been cooking a lot with avocado oil. it has a higher smoke point than olive oil with all the health benefits.
