No way -- I like a lot of those songs but except for maybe "Alone" they have an entirely different feel.

I've recently been reawakened to the awesomeness of Ten and Vs.. Because I listen to them so rarely, I mostly just think of them in relation to the records that I like even better (No Code et al.), and end up short-shrifting them. But both of them kick serious ass.
Kevin, I have just had this exact same experience.

Oh good god, no. G, Dissident and Leash are all top songs for me. Two are in my top 10. And Wash is the only one of those songs (and maybe HTI) that I wish was actually on an album.

Hard To Imagine and Alone are the only tracks mentioned that are remotely from the Vs era, the rest are from Ten era. (I know we're talking about a 15-18 month time period here).

HtI, Alone, Betterman and Whipping are the only real possibilities. Unless you throw in Crazy Mary.

Hold On would've been the logical extension song from Ten to add to Vs. Glad they didn't.

Don't remind me of that song. Yeah that one too.

Honestly at my most generous I think that's true to an extent of every PJ album except Lightning Bolt, which I just don't like.
Did you listen to my "Ramblings of a Lunatic" remix of Ten?

I'm not sure I've ever been blown away by a new album like I was that day in 1993.

That album is perfect. Sure there are lesser songs but I wouldn't change that album one bit.

Vs. is one of the most perfect rock records of not just the 90's, but of any decade. I don't listen often at all, but saying something should be changed about Vs. is akin to saying something should be changed about Zeppelin II.

Vs. showed that PJ really was the best rock band on the planet. That album still holds up close to 30 years later.

I don't agree that this is their best album, but I wouldn't argue against someone who did.

They had a great sound at the time, one of their best ever, but the songs are uneven. More so than the mid-PJ era, that often gets painted here as being uneven.
