LW, MITS, and Gone are all better than Big Wave. FACT.

Its not a great song but that riff has balls. PJ riffs have been missing some balls the last two efforts.

We need more balls. :bammer:
the life wasted riff is pure balls

LW has a cool riff but it comes off as a bit flat to me...

My Unreasonable/ subjective complaints:
1. Evacuation sucks
2. Big Wave should not have been on S/T
3. Let it Ride is better than Cold Confession
4, Vitalogy is a flawed album

I'm sure there's more...[/quote]

i agree with number 2 and 3..Big wave is def a B Side, but i dont mind it on ST...its actually a good song live...I cant think of a bad song on vitalogy altho im sick of betterman...Let it Ride is def superior to CC IMO...

Ok dude, I just gave you a thumbs up for repping bugs and stupid mop... but seriously, big wave is not better than life wasted. not even close. And I might even be in the stip camp and venture to say that life wasted could be the best song PJ has written in the last 10 years....

Who wrote the music for that btw? Oh yea, right... Stone fuckin' Gossard!

Meh I say, MEH.

LW and MitS are ruined by Shitty bridges and/or choruses. I really like the guitar in Gone but not anything else. So basically its eds fault.

well I wouldn't say that it is the best song in 10 years (at the very least I prefer comatose and WWS), but it is one of them.

STOP BEING WRONG.

The bridge of LW is the best part of the song. The chorus of MITS is basically good.

Is this you making a totally unreasonable and subjective complaint? Wow! Welcome to the board.
Yup,

Add it to my list:

My Unreasonable/ subjective complaints:
1. Evacuation sucks
2. Big Wave should not have been on S/T
3. Let it Ride is better than Cold Confession
4, Vitalogy is a flawed album

I'm sure there's more...
I disagree with 1.

Can't argue with the rest. Stupid mop is a flaw.

Guys, E-Vac-U-A-Shun in not all that. It's an OK song with some interesting parts but nowhere near the top of PJ's best.

The GONE chorus is one of the most nauseating things PJ has ever written. its a tragic display. Hate it.

On a related note... "No More" appeared on my playlist this morning. Words can't describe how awful that song is. Gone is close to that awfulness.

S/T could've been a classic "return to form" mind crusher minus the following:

1. Avocados
2. Zombie pyramids
3. Full-band version of Gone (if they had to include it, they should've just left it in demo form, Matt's hi-hat rhythm on the 2nd verse just sounds painfully unoriginal)
4. First 2 minutes of Inside Job (either cut out all that crap, with the cheesy 80's piano.... or just replace it with Cold Confession as the album closer)

So close... but still no sitar

EDIT: Well, while I'm at it... get ride of that cheesy Wasted Reprise as well... and blast us with a ripping studio version of... you know it... OF THE EARTH!

I would put Matt's hi-hats in 'Gone' quite a long way down the list of unoriginal Matt moments.
