Re: Rank the outros
Disagree that it's the greatest guitar solo of all time, but do agree it's the right answer to the question, and the best guitar solo in a Pearl Jam song.

Re: Rank the outros
Not saying it’s the greatest by far, but Never Destination is one of the few songs, where the outro is both high quality and where the second part of the song, destroys the first part.
Retrograde as well, but in a much more boring way.

Re: Rank the outros
I know it's an obvious choice but RVM is the perfect example of a song whose last section builds and crashes on everything that came before it, thematically and sonically; "saw things clearer once you were in my rearview mirror"

I can get behind this.tragabigzanda wrote:The ending stretch of Animal is probably my favorite moment in the entire catalog
I am also very fond of the outro to Daughter, how it slowly winds down to Dave (?) tapping the rhythm to the song out on his thighs (?).

I really like the outro to "Faithfull". Someone here once described that song's structure as "palindromic" and it made sense to me. I think it resolves really nicely and kind of unexpectedly with "faithful to you"

yeah I love that, and I feel like a shade of it is there in the resolution of "Never Destination": "...on my mind"theplatypus wrote:I really like the outro to "Faithfull". why can't Pearl Jam just go back in time and write Stairway to Heaven first?LikeLukin wrote:How does reconstruction_seeds feel about this?
