He does. Bought the La Luz albums because of his having mentioned them. Great band.Monkey_Driven wrote:Ed still has pretty good taste. Just leans more poppy, influenced by his daughters no doubt.

Re: Ed and Jeff on Bill Simmons Thursday
We still make records to be listened to — not that everyone will listen to a record track one to twelve in a row or side A or Side B — but we still make 'em in case somebody does want to listen to it like that, that's how we make em…

yeah, those were cool, and i like his daughter´s influence if thats what Lana Del Rey or Billie Eillish are...but i dont really care for his fandom of Springsteen or Petty. He seems to be very interested on those two.oneway23 wrote:He does. Bought the La Luz albums because of his having mentioned them. Great band.Monkey_Driven wrote:Ed still has pretty good taste. But he always has been. He was a fan of those guys in his teenage years (kind of like PJ to most of us).VinylGuy wrote:yeah, those were cool, and i like his daughter´s influence if thats what Lana Del Rey or Billie Eillish are...but i dont really care for his fandom of Springsteen or Petty. His comments on Gretta Van Fleet are indeed met with silence, but he also doesn't give them much of a chance to respond and moves on to the next question very quickly.

I saw Greta Van Fleet do an interview where the person interviewing did an "either or" game where they had to pick who they preferred out of two bands. There were like 10 band combos presented (e.g. Beatles or Rolling Stones, etc). They basically picked what would be considered the more socially acceptable answer for each one. They were asked about Nirvana or Pearl Jam and the lead singer didn't hesitate to say Nirvana. Clearly Ed saw this.

I heard that interview and i questioned their honesty on that answer. Pj are clearly closer to their style than nirvana. Surely they admired pj musically while growing up.

I thought it was clear from listening to their other responses that they were saying whatever they thought would score them the most points with public opinion. My main takeaway from the interview with that these guys seemed kind've fake.reconstruction_ seeds wrote:sweeper wrote:I saw Greta Van Fleet do an interview where the person interviewing did an "either or" game where they had to pick who they preferred out of two bands. Finally listening to this today. Quite entertaining though Bill is a bit of a chode with all of the NBA analogies.
So much for the idea that Ed may have quit smoking. Think he's sparked that lighter at least 5 times now. Still have about 40 minutes left to listen.
