I wasnt really that serious when I said that. A 4 or 5 song pre-set is just a pipe dream I have.

Maybe. They were doing that "campfire mode" thing in the first encore a few tours ago that everyone loved.warehouse wrote:for an entire tour?numbers wrote:maybe we'll get an acoustic pre-set instead of an opener.

thats different than an acoustic preset though. i kinda hope they start doing slower encores so they play more songs that are usually only main set openers.broken iris wrote:Maybe. In all likelihood a bunch of the shows without openers will probably get a one or two song pre-set from EV.

Do they ever rock out?
I just sampled all the songs from the other album "courage of others" I think, do not like.
I will be in no rush to get to my seat

I didn't like Courage but I loved Van Occupanther. The new single, with the new singer, might interest you slightly more. It's a bit more prog rock than folk.commo wrote:Just listened to a few. Re: Fall 2013 North American Tour
Yeah, I feel like they are a very hit or miss band. I know people who love them and vice versa. If not your cup of tea, you won't miss much live...that is, unless you have GA seats. I can imagine Ed coming out on stage with them... seems to be more in his folky vibe.commo wrote:Just listened to a few. "PJ broke out choice new numbers off their new LP, Lightning Bolt, at their July gigs in London and Chicago, including the soaring title track, the punkish "Mind Your Manners" and the acoustic slow-burner "Future Days." But when the Seattle rock legends take to the road this fall on a full-fledged tour, expect to hear the new album if not in full than, well, practically in its entirety. Then again, this is Pearl Jam, so nothing is guaranteed from night to night. Well, besides a head-spinning rock riot of a concert."
How would they know this?

I like how they made that claim, and then refuted it in the very next sentence

That coming from a mag who put the pretty, glammed up picture of the boston bomber on its cover rather than the bloodied and wounded coward hiding in a boat.

Wouldn't the bloody picture have been more sensationalist? Isn't it more of a statement to have a 'normal' picture on there?

I didn't read it, but I guess this picture would've brought out the fact that it's 'normal' people that do this, not the villains of comic books or horror movies.

Yeah they didn't do anything wrong. It was also a picture previously circulated in major outlets. A manufactured crisis
