God I wish they would have made another one of those...
They do them every record cycle, they're called EPKs.
but arent they usually short, like 10 or 12 minutes?
Yep. SVT is basically just a long EPK.
Don't EPKs normally come out before or around a new album launch, though? SVT came out 7 months after Yield was released.

I remember I was watching tb2k in my dorm room and a friend stopped by just before leaving to see a Grateful Dead cover band...then missed the Grateful Dead cover band hanging out in the room watching this DVD for hours.

Because I have it on VHS, can I call it an APK?

Really was the right thing at the perfect time.

I was always a PJ fan from the beginning, bought all the albums, etc., but having never had them visit my hometown growing up, TB2K and the bootlegs were what really elevated my PJ fandom and made me realize what a special band they were (and are).

But just because it's an interesting subject, and although I can't speak for them, as far as I'm aware I'd say that 1) people who are clinically diagnosed as 'deaf' may have a minimal amount of hearing ability enhanced by hearing-aids, 2) they go for the communal / social aspect and the enjoyment of the gathering, and 3) they'll experience the music / rhythm through vibrations in the floor, etc. They go for the same reasons as everyone else, but their experience is different.
I remember reading about the woman from the performance on 5H in the days following the actual show (St. Louis, correct?), and she said she was someone who worked for the arena and did sign language for any shows where it was requested, so obviously it happens pretty frequently for an arena to have a specific person on retainer to perform it.

TB2K is one of the main reasons why I became such a huge fan. That and the Verona 2000 bootleg.

I've just bought this from Amazon. It feels like a decisive move and makes me a little nervous.

Lightning Bolt?

I'm going digital this year. I don't think I've used a CD player for at least 3 years. When I was based in South Africa, it was a torturous 3 week wait to get Pearl Jam releases.

Presumably the digital download comes with liner notes/artwork?

Probably some sort of PDF.
It claims it will come with "exclusive digital content", whatever that means.

Same here. I'm going to burn it onto the computer and put it on my MP3 player but I still want the physical copy.
