We can't speculate that Trump will do something awful that his opponents would have never thought to do?
He can't postpone the election. It's in the constitution.

He will throw this country into turmoil trying, nonetheless.
Everything's perfectly all right now. We're fine. We're all fine here, now, thank you. How are you?

Trump can’t stay in the White House beyond noon on January 20 without being elected again. If there is no election, Nancy Pelosi will be sworn in at that time (until we have an election). Something tells me republicans will want to avoid that.

When does the supreme court decide on his financials? It'll just be 5-4 in his favor, but let's say for the sake of argument it wasn't. Would Republicans have a change of tune on whether they want to keep the total idiot around? Every day it's a new low for him. Why not just use the excuse to install Pence and then run some guy who doesn't have dementia in November?

I also think, on a different note, the opposition candidate saying "oh, he might postpone the election!" is not really a great tactical rallying cry.

Biden saying shit like that is just going to result in AR15 rallies at state capitol buildings roughly around October. The narrative will be: the virus outbreak is no time to switch leaders!!

Isn’t her term over, as well?

It's all very confusing, USA Today had an article stating that the President & VP end their terms, definitively, at noon on Jan 20, and Pelosi is next in line. But it seems that's not right. But I found this, in The Hill:
But there would be no House speaker if there were no election, because there would be no House, all of whose members would be up for election in November. The terms of all members of the House would end, as stated in the Constitution, on January 3. There would, however, be a Senate, with a majority of its members not up for election in November and, therefore, still serving their terms. This is important as the next in line would be the president pro tempore of the Senate, which is Charles Grassley. However, if there were no election, there may be a Democratic majority among the remaining senators not up for reelection, unless sitting governors or state legislators were allowed to fill vacant seats, which is another issue.

The longest serving majority senator is traditionally handed the honor of serving as the president pro tempore of the chamber. Among Democrats that would be Patrick Leahy. But a Democratic majority could choose any sitting senator for that role, including Elizabeth Warren and even Bernie Sanders. If the succession law covers a missed election, which would be doubtful, then the senator selected to serve as president pro tem would become the next president. This thought is scary enough to Republicans to assure that they will do everything they can to hold the election.

Also the federal government doesn't administer the election. States do individually.

Is there anything to prevent states from holding their election anyway? So we'd have at least a partial congress with a Speaker (Pelosi, if CA voted)?

Nope. The Secretary of State of the individual state runs the election. They then certify the results, and then send the electors to vote in the EC.

The only real way the federal government could postpone the election is if Congress passed a law. Currently, by act of Congress, the states must hold their individual elections on the first Tuesday after the first Monday in November. Congress could pass a new law changing the date, or abolish the law and allow states to hold it whenever they want. Do you really think Nancy Pelosi is going to play ball with Trump and McConnell on that one?

Of course not. I always just assumed their strategy would just be the usual - make it harder to vote.

How is the Democratic machinery not jumping all over this disinfectant stuff? Perhaps worse than the fact that he thinks injecting disinfectant into the lungs could work is the fact that he believes he is so smart that none of these doctors and researchers had ever thought to do that.

Trump is down, and Democrats should be kicking the shit out of him every day. He is clearly more miserable now than at any point of his presidency. Kick away.

He's owned by China and Tammy Duckworth is on that one already. His dementia pressers are 25th amendment type stuff but of course that would never happen.
