How do you guys feel about having Joe Biden competing with him? I think its a massive failure from the democrats. Another one...i mean its pretty much the same picture that Hillary vs Trump all over again.

Adding to VG's post, since Bernie has only suspended his campaign do you think he'll contest again? And is it too late for anyone else to run?

Bernie is out. He already said it. Biden is the guy.
Massive failure to me, Biden is basically Hillary or worst.

Re: The 45th POTUS - Donald J. Trump
Barring some health issue, it's going to be Biden as the candidate. It's not ideal at all. But my general argument is that Trump's margins were razor thin. I find it hard to believe he could keep every vote he got last time, let alone expand on it. Biden is at least more palatable than Hillary. It's really not impossible to beat Trump, though of course, no guarantees. There seems to be a swing vote - especially among college educated women, that are trending away from Trump/current Republicans. If that holds, Trump is in trouble.

I think Trump is the obvious winner, maybe maaaybe he can lost some votes because of this COVID disaster? maybe. But its impossible for Biden to win.
The real candidate was Sanders. And Trump know that i think.

Re: The 45th POTUS - Donald J. Trump
Plenty of people have this opinion, but the evidence so far shows Biden being at least somewhat more popular than Hillary (and doing better than her against Sanders). There is, so far, no evidence to show Trump has expanded on his 46% of the vote. And again, there is evidence of college grads moving away from Trump, more so women than men. Trump has no margin for error.VinylGuy wrote:I think Trump is the obvious winner, maybe maaaybe he can lost some votes because of this COVID disaster? maybe. But its impossible for Biden to win.

People didn't take Trump seriously in 16. Plenty will crawl over broken glass to vote against him in 20 after 4 years of his shit.VinylGuy wrote:Covid might fuck him up, thats true. Honestly what do you think the social effect of a conversation on a Pearl Jam message board is?verb_to_trust wrote:Biden is it. These conversations don't help.

Re: The 45th POTUS - Donald J. Trump
Barring a massive collective feeling of success re:covid and/or the economy between now and then, he doesn’t have a prayer of a victory without some effective and very geographically targeted suppression efforts. The real dangers will be in the ways he tries to avoid that reality, and how people’s pessimism about defeating him in general tempers their response.
One easy example: republican-led states are avoiding vote-by-mail funding initiatives. Liberal cities within those states are responding by ramping up their own, more local vote-by-mail efforts. How does the conservative base, programmed to assume liberal voter fraud, respond when Madison returns explode while rural WI vote turnout lags far behind?

It's more of an assumption that these fine PJ fans are having these conversations in the real world, whatever that even is anymore.Mickey wrote:Honestly what do you think the social effect of a conversation on a Pearl Jam message board is?verb_to_trust wrote:Biden is it.
