If I had to choose, blue cheese all the way. But I prefer no dressing. It's really easy to make your own wing sauce, and that's all you need.

Re: Anybody want a Corona?
There's uhh two pretty big caveats in this bad boy:
And more importantly:According to the latest data from Johns Hopkins University, there are more than 18,500 confirmed coronavirus cases in Sweden, with 2,194 deaths as of Sunday.
These numbers don't bode well when compared to other Nordic countries. Denmark, which earlier this month relaxed some of its restrictions, is closing in on 8,800 coronavirus cases. Its death toll stands at 422. Finland recently extended its ban on mass gatherings through the summer. The country has more than 4,500 confirmed cases and reported 190 coronavirus deaths. Both Denmark and Finland have a population of around 5 million each, which is roughly half of that of Sweden.
You could argue that the death toll, which is almost twice per capita of its neighboring countries (via an 11% mortality rate compared to 4%), is worth a potentially lower unemployment rate/GDP reduction by shortening the crisis window. But that really only works if you can't get sick again, and while coronavirus infections in general usually lead to at least temporary immunity, until that's more secure I would be really wary of praising this. There is no scientific proof, however, that people who have recovered from COVID-19 are actually protected from a second infection. The World Health Organization on Friday said the idea that one-time infection can lead to immunity remains unproven.

Re: Anybody want a Corona?
Also, based on what I've read, coronavirus family immunity can range from something like a year to eight years, so even if COVID-19 survivors have temporary immunity, the window on that could still determine whether this "worked" or not. Even 2-3 years gives you a window to get a vaccine going, but if you killed off a sizable fraction of your elderly population and the virus comes back in January, pretty hard to call that a win.

One year at the low end? I thought it was something like 2 months (depending on a lot of things). One year on the low end makes a seasonal vaccine something doable. I hope its something of that nature.Mickey wrote:Also, based on what I've read, coronavirus family immunity can range from something like a year to eight years, so even if COVID-19 survivors have temporary immunity, the window on that could still determine whether this "worked" or not. Re: Anybody want a Corona?
I mean I think they truly don't know, and I haven't read extensively about the theorizing. I do know one of the closest parallels is MERS which gives you about a year of resistance. I also saw something hypothesizing a 2-3 year range, which would be amazing. But I think the bigger issue right now is that you can't start declaring that you're approaching herd immunity if, as you say, the low end might be measured in months. Even a year wouldn't necessarily be enough time to get an initial vaccine ready to go.simple schoolboy wrote:One year at the low end? Re: Anybody want a Corona?
Recent reading suggests that population density is a large contributor to high Covid death rates (not the only one though), so I suspect you would have to compare city vs city instead of nation vs nation. Like LA vs NYC for example. It's also possible that they are also benefiting from their neighbor's behaviors and/or the informed choices or their population vs the letter of law. It will be interesting to see how they fair in the winter months.Mickey wrote:There's uhh two pretty big caveats in this bad boy:
