Aside from Gigaton the only two albums of 2020 that I've really immersed myself in are a couple jazz/jazz-adjacent releases:

Avishai Cohen - Big Vicious (trumpet and electric guitar with some electronic elements)
Wolfgang Muthspiel - Angular Blues (guitar, bass, drums trio)

Really love both, worth checking out if you're so inclined.

These both sound very much in my general wheelhouse, thanks KD.

The New Abnormal - The Strokes
Future Nostalgia - Dua Lipa
From Liberty Street - Mapache
Marigold - Stu Larsen
3.15.20 - Childish Gambino
I loved In a Poem Unlimited but sadly the new U.S. Girls doesn't reach those levels for me

Have you tried Frances Quinlan's solo album? I remember you liking Hop Along
Totally agree about US Girls. Have not tried Frances' solo album. Adding it to the list now.

Joe, have you heard Christine and the Queens’ new EP? You should listen to it if you haven’t. It’s really good.

Frances Quinlan's solo record is good but not as strong as her stuff with the band (at least on first listen). The Christine and the Queens EP is great. Very gripping and compelling.

Thanks for the recs, y'all.

Other thoughts: the new Soccer Mommy is good, the new Real Estate is bad, the new Grimes is okay, and everyone should listen to the new Jeff Parker album, Suite for Max Brown .
